A burn off oven (also called a pyrolysis or paint stripping oven) cleans paint hooks, racks, fixtures and parts by heating them in a controlled, low-oxygen atmosphere. The organic coating breaks down into smoke, and an afterburner destroys the smoke, leaving only a light ash that is easily washed or blown off.
Burn off ovens are widely used in powder coating plants to strip hangers and in motor rewinding shops to remove old varnish and insulation from stators before rewinding. How the Burn Off Oven Works
Parts are loaded and the chamber is heated slowly to about 370-430°C with limited air, so the coating pyrolyses instead of burning. A water-spray system keeps the chamber below flash conditions. Smoke passes to the afterburner, where it is burned at high temperature before release, and the parts then cool down for unloading.

How does a burn off oven remove paint?
